Program  Offerings

Private lessons and semi-private (2 riders) are available in eight- (8-) week packages.  Arrangements can be made for an “Intro to Equines” class for persons or small groups who wish to learn more about equine activities. This all-inclusive, 1½ hour class is a wonderful introduction to the world of horses.
Our riders include persons who have Down Syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders, physical impairments, ADD/ADHD, Prader-Willi, learning disabilities, Fragile-X Syndrome, Tourettes Syndrome, visual and hearing impairments.

All I.E.T.’s riders are evaluated prior to placement in any of our classes.  All lessons are carefully tailored to meet the individual’s ability.

PROGRAMS  FAQ:

Q: What should riders wear?
  • All riders must wear long pants, protective footwear (shoes or boots with heels -- no sneakers!) and a certified riding helmet. Helmets are available at the stable for those who need to borrow one.
Q: What forms are required for programs?

Forms can be obtained from Bridges, downloaded from our website, or picked up at our office at Silver Rock Farm.
  • FOR NEW RIDERS - The complete registration form package (link above), consisting of medical background form, emergency medical treatment form, supplemental medical form, indemnification agreement and liability waiver form.
  • FOR RETURNING RIDERS - The "Update to Participant Registration Forms" (included in the link) is required.  In addition, any of the above forms that I.E.T. does not have on file must be re-submitted to I.E.T. in advance of the session.
Q: Are masks required?
  • While Covid protocols are no longer enforced, please stay home if you exhibit symptoms.
  • The Covid -19 waiver is not required at this time.
Q: What should I do if we are going to miss a lesson?
  • If you are going to miss your lesson, please call 24 hours in advance to leave a message. In an emergency, if you must cancel a lesson with less than 24 hours' notice, please still call us. Lessons require an instructor, volunteers and of course a horse so PLEASE do your best to let us know ahead of time. All calls regarding cancellations, makeups, or other questions should be directed to 845-735-2042.
Returning riders: please let us know of any new health or other concerns.
Mary Romney will be calling all Bridges riders to schedule regular lesson times (201-264-7376). This number is only for scheduling.
